Seeing With You

From the Magical Day
Since the last blog I have been busy teaching , painting ,working and tending to my elderly parents. Busy times and new artistic growth from all of these events.
Teaching is a new experience for me and I LOVE it . I was asked to teach a watercolor class in October and I hope to teach for the rest of my life. Seeing people develop new techniques and their own style is as exciting and rewarding .
This new painting is from a series about Koi fish , the magic they produce and lifes mysteries that are evoked by their movenents , like ballerninas in water. The image in this painting was from one of the most wonderful days of my life . It began simply as a random day trip ,my friend did not know where he wanted to go . So I suggested a ride to the seacoast and my favortie gardens . We wandered through their rose garden, then the tropical , last but not least through the Japenese Garden . The tiny pond is surrounded by bamboo trees over hanging, making shadows and patterns in the water. Brilliantly colored Koi were swiming back and forth , glimmer in the spots of sun . One pair swam right up to one another, feeding or kissing . I will never know . It was a second or third date with a special man and then entire day was pure magic . Like the fish and the day it was fleeting and something to treasure .
